Displacement Should Not Define a Woman's Future
We help displaced women and girls build the skills, confidence and resilience to shape what comes next.
The WINGS story
What started as a grassroots empowerment initiative in New Kuchingoro IDP Camp, Abuja, grew from listening to the realities of women and girls living with displacement — from limited livelihood opportunities and digital access to financial insecurity, interrupted education and psychosocial challenges.
In November 2024, we began our first phase with a baseline assessment of women and girls aged 13-35. This assessment served as the foundation for building a contextualized curriculum that currently covers four core knowledge areas.
With support from the World Bank’s Youth Innovation Fund in 2025 and a number of purposeful partnerships, we have continued to work at the intersection of humanitarian response and long-term development. Today, WINGS empowers displaced women and girls with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities to shape their own futures.
From displacement to dignity. From vulnerability to possibility. From survival to self-reliance.
